Why should I change to LED ? ……For years we’ve always had to make do especially in the leisure industry not wanting to leave the lights on for fear of draining the battery, trying to cram in enough old bulbs to see what we’re doing but dare not turn them on for fear of the batteries, and when we do plug into the mains so we have lots of power, they get so dam hot we can’t get near them, and we all know what happens when we change a halogen with a bit of tissue or hanky in you hand because we can’t touch it ! The question is why haven’t I got LED’s and where do I get them from. Us here at Searolf, they use less power, last a lot longer give out lots of light and most of all were not scared to turn them on.
Are they waterproof ?......Some are yes, how do you know which are? In the description it will simply say waterproof and refer to a code and/or to the right of the picture of the product under approvals it will show the same code Prefix by IP (ingress protection) and two number the first refers to object ingress, from fingers through to dust 0-6. The second refer to water ingress from a drip to high pressure jets 0-9K.

Do I need a voltage regulator ?…….If you can’t maintain 12 volts for a 12 volt bulb - yes or you can use our 10-30 volt range which was designed with this in mind .
I’ve put my bulb in and it doesn’t work?………If your bulb has two contacts on the base simply rotate the bulb through 180 degrees. If your bulb has a single contact you will need to change over the wires in the bulb holder.
Will your bulbs work in my 24 volt system ?…….. All of our 24 volt rated bulbs will work so too will the 10-30volt rated bulbs.
Why are some LED’s cheaper ?……. In short - quality, you get what get you pay for. There are three levels of chips we use the best one which is marine grade.
Can I use a white LED in my Tri or Bi light ?…….NO ! Theres a whole load of science why you can’t, but simply put when the white light from a LED passes through the lens it may not come out the other side the same colour.
Can I use them at home ?……. Yes if you have the correct transformer which do come with many household lights, if you are still unsure please speak to a qualified electrician.
Can i use them on my car ?.......If your car has the ability to detect if the bulb has failed and will flag a warning light, we would advise not to. why ? LED's use such a small amount of power the brains of the car will not detect a power usage on the LED it will think the bulb has subsequently failed, and bring on a warning light, there are bulbs on the market that will fool the car called Canbus LED's and are available from any good motor factors. What if my car doesn't have bulb warning lights ? then yes you could use them except in a combined stop and tail light as our LED's are single illumination and not double filamented.
